The bronze statue of The Linesman by contemporary Dublin artist Dony McManus is a welcome addition to the abundance of photogenic statues in the city. Commissioned by the Dublin Docklands Development Authority, it was unveiled in February 2000 and is located on City Quay between the Matt Talbot and Seán O’Casey bridges; bringing to life a time when bustling merchant ships docked on the River Liffey.
