Located some 15km from Bihać, the beautiful Japodski Otoci (Japod’s Islands) offer a window into one of the region’s oldest civilisations. The Japodi ruled this land for years until the Romans came in and did a number on them, but the original people's desire and respect for water has been resurrected in the modern age. A number of bars and accommodation lie all around, with some curious sculptures of the Japodi guaranteed to intrigue.
