It's always good to know what you're getting when it comes to accommodation and, with the Radisson widely regarded as being the ‘hotel for foreigners’ in Kaliningrad, it would appear that the bulk of non-Russian visitors to the city are of the same opinion. Clean and comfortable (if not especially modern) and handily latched on to one shopping centre bang on Victory Square, a 5min walk will take you to the larger Europa Centre or any number of bar/restaurants. A raucous bell-ringing extravaganza from the nearby Christ the Saviour Cathedral did ensure an early start for us on both Saturday and Sunday but thankfully there was a top notch breakfast on hand to soften the blow.
