Established in 1965 on the initiative of Tadeusz Grabowski and other Polish graphic artists, the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice is the oldest and one of the most prestigious poster art competitions in Poland. The exhibition made the BWA Gallery of Contemporary Art in Katowice a significant and respected cultural institution. The competition culminates in an exhibition of the selected artists' works from the last three years. Exhibited here are both the works of recognised artists as well as the youngest, debuting artists. The featured posters are characterised by thematic and design diversity.
