Jim Black is an incredible jazz drummer, who has performed with such excellent bands as Bloodcount led by Tim Berne, Tint Bell Trio led by Dave Douglas, and Uri Caine, where he deconstructed the music of Mahler, Mozart or Gershwin. Black is considered to be one of the greatest contemporary drummers, and his debut album "AlasNoAxis"  featuring clarinettist and saxophonist Chris Speed, guitarist Hilmar Jensson and bassist Skúli Sverrisson recorded in 2000 is considered the embodiment of his musical vision.
