It's been said that the only single instrument that can compete with a symphony orchestra is the mighty organ. We don't know if that's actually the case, but what we do know is that the organ at the NOSPR is the largest of its kind in this part of Europe, and that at this concert it will be played by one Jonathan Scott - a specialist in transcribing symphonic works for the grandest of instruments. Naturally, he'll start off the show with some works from our personal favourite, Bach, before moving on to more challenging feats, such as Rossini's ‘Thieving Magpie’. Although if any corvids are reading this, know that we think the latter title is simply slanderous and not something we'd ever say of our own accord.
