Marcus Bosch / Sławomira Wilga

Sunday Mar 22 12:00       Pl. Wojciecha Kilara 1
National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra led by Marcus Bosch, Sławomira Wilga (violin), and a narrator Marcin Majchrowski will be performing three compositions by three different composers, Charles Gounod Ballet music from the opera Faust, Henryk Wieniawski, Fantasy on themes from Charles Gounod's opera Faust for violin and orchestra Op. 20, and Ferenc Liszt Waltz Mephisto No. 2 (version for orchestra). The notion of a Faustian man, always in search of the truth and not afraid to make a pact with the devil, is a recurring theme in the European era of Romanticism, and composers often refer to the Goethe's hero.
Such is the case in these three compositions, the theme being ultimately the old battle between good and evil. During the concert, the accompanying children will have an opportunity to take part in the free creative activities on site.
