Legend has it that the King of Prussia Frederic Wilhelm III and his Russian counterpart Alexander I met a few kilometres north of here to discuss international affairs in 1802. An exceedingly rare event, the meeting inspired the founding of this park which since 1993 has been in the hands of the city's university. Covering almost 10 hectares, it comprises around 3,000 annual and perennial species organised into several groups as well as a large rock garden. Buses Nº9 and 14 run to the park from the city centre. Get off at the Botanikos Sodo stop and you're practically standing outside the entrance.
