If you're anything like us, the inflexibility of pizza restaurants in Poland - whose staff vacantly stare and point at their long menus of preordained pie compositions when you simply ask for a pizza with the two toppings your kids will eat - is beyond frustrating. If only there was some magic utopian place where the chefs could do custom orders and the customers could have whatever they want on their pie! Well friends, take heart, such Pizzatopias do exist, and they can now be found not only across all of North America, but also in Kraków. This casual pizza joint on Plac Nowy is all about empowering clients and personalising pies. Just imagine: with Pizzatopia's 'Build Your Own' pie offer, you can choose as many and whichever ingredients you want for a flat rate of 26zł. Behind the counter (which actually makes this pizza place more like a sandwich shop) you'll find four base sauces to choose from, seven different types of cheese (including vegan mozzarella), six kinds of meat (including roast beef and chorizo), over a dozen veggies, and a dozen finishing sauces (from balsamic truffle sauce to rosemary olive oil). Fast and fired for under 3 minutes, the menu also includes a few of their own creations (try the pizza of the month), fresh salads, craft beers, homemade cookies and their own sodas. A brilliant concept that’s love at first bite, they also have locations in the Old Town at ul. Szewska 22 and ul. Grodzka 48, and they do delivery too.
