This intriguing theme restaurant is located in what was a test range for weapons produced at the Bolshevik factory. The interior is a history lesson in and of itself: The bar is decorated with military boots and helmets, a menacing military rifle seems to follow you about the room and the Stalin era posters are splashed with slogans such as “Life has become easier, it has become cheerful.” The kitchen boasts a skilled saucier whose mastery shines in signature dishes like “The Council of People’s Commissars” (veal with potato au gratin), “Red Army Dream” (rabbit with fresh vegetables in a creamy sauce) and “Hello Baltic” (grilled trout on a bed of zucchini, carrots and peppers). After dinner, stay and play billiards in the adjacent halls or explore the Bolshevik shopping centre.
really cool place - great cooky decor and friendly staff - the pool table is free - the food is 'fine' and the vodka shots are cheap and efficent...
