Trukhaniv Island has a long “aquatic” history. Back in the 19th century, there was a summer residence of the Kyiv Yacht Club. In the Soviet times it housed the centre for rowers. Nowadays it is a modern water-sports facility to practice rowing, kayaking and canoeing. If you are not in the Olympic reserve and have not yet booked your tickets for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, you can start with a peddle catamaran and try to cope with the strong Dnipro’s current. The cost of rowboats and peddle catamarans 40-50Hr.
Getting there Cross the Dnipro by the Pedestrian Bridge and walk in the direction of Matvievsky Gulf.
