La Buvette da Mae d'Agua is a classic 'hidden gem', tucked away on a street you would not normally visit (as a tourist), staffed by lovely people, who clearly care about their food and their customers. Its small kitchen is right in the middle of the restaurant and although it's behind hatches, you can see the staff close by at work and it adds to the feeling of intimacy and being in someone else's house, rather than a restaurant.
