La Perla Fish House is a real pearl of seafood gastronomy in the Northern Capital. Since the day of its opening on 7 March, 1999 La Perla has been serving guests dishes made of only the freshest Russian seafood and prepared by the best chefs in town. Currently, the restaurant’s head chef is Stanislav Potemkin, a member of the International Association of Gastronomy “Chaîne des Rôtisseurs”. The menu boasts oysters, sea urchins, scallops from the Sea of Okhotsk that are served on a tray of ice, traditional pomorsk fish soup prepared in accordance with a 17th century recipe, zander from Lake Ladoga slow-cooked in a liqueur of field wormwood and served with a tender carrot puree, as well as many other mouth-watering dishes that combine fresh local produce with the finest traditions of Russian and French cuisines. All together, this is what makes St. Petersburg’s gastronomical traditions truly unique.
