If you’re looking for fantastic French pastries and cuisine in Jūrmala, then escape the busy streets of Majori and head out to the tranquil surroundings at Madame Brioche in Melluži. You can order takeaway croissants, éclairs and baguettes at its shop to the right or have a seat at its modern café to the left. Naturally, a good wine list is on offer not to mention excellent coffee, a wide variety of teas and organically brewed sodas. The croque-monsieur was the best we’ve had in Latvia and we were sure to stock up on freshly-baked goodies on the way out. How fresh you might ask? Madame Brioche lists the exact times when she bakes each of her treats in the shop, so you know when to drop by. A lovely summer terrace is also available out back.
