A short drive south of Liepāja is the Sailor’s Nest – a renovated building from 1880 only 300m from the sea. Owned and operated by a young married couple, the hotel is a true labour of love. A nautical theme pervades its hallways and rooms include flat screen TVs, phones and custom-made wooden furniture. A bar, sauna and café in the lookout tower are also available as well as basketball and beach volleyball courts in the summer. Open May - September.
