Although this version of Latvia’s 1st Rock Café is nowhere near as impressive as the now defunct four-storey food and drink complex that once stood in Liepāja, this establishment located in an historic 17th-century merchant’s house on a popular nightlife street in Old Riga does draw plenty of crowds. It’s a restaurant, bar and club all in one as well as a museum of sorts for Latvian music memorabilia that’s displayed on its walls. You can expect generous servings of affordable international food like steaks, pizzas, pastas and vegetarian dishes and live music at least a few times a week. Our only complaint is the poor selection of local brews, but it is open quite late.
