We (two women) used Red Cabs almost exclusively and had no problems at all. Tariffs were always reasonable, I *think* Elizabetes iela to airport was less than 8 Lats.

Difficult to say whether that really has happened or not? Living as a foreigner here in Riga already for many years and I have to say Red Cab taxis are the only and most trusty company and I warmly can recommend their services. Those black Mercedes taxis are famous of cheating airport to center travellers. That company even tried to cheat one journalist some time ago but unfortunately (for taxi company)that passenger wrote some news with evidences about that ride.

Very bad service ! Taking taxi from the Riga airport (RIX) I was overcharged and the taxi driver was very impollite (crying at me) when I asked him : why do I have to pay 20 lats instead of usual 12-13 lats? :( I am working in Riga, and the only company which I would go to advice is - Lady taxi and Riga Taxi.Lady taxi drivers are only females, but the Riga Taxi company is offering new Mercedes benz cars.If I was asken to travel with "Rīgas taksometru parks" taxi fleets, guys, I would better prefer bus or train...but, it's up to your choice.
