Only opened in 2010, Classic Burger Joint has led the local burger craze and taken Beirut by storm, now boasting more than a dozen locations in the city, as well as branches in Cyprus, Kuwait and the UAE, with plans to hit an even 100 by 2020. What is all the fuss about? Well the founders spent years scouring the globe to taste every gourmet burger they could get their mouths on, returning to Lebanon to perfect their own recipe, from the flamed-grilled Australian Angus grain-fed beef patty, to the freshly baked buns and high-quality farm-fresh vegetables. For those who prefer chicken or vegetarian options, luckily the CBJ slogan of 'hamburgers is all we do' is not entirely true, as half the menu consists of various alternative options – potato, fish, mozzarella and even quinoa. You even get a free apple on your way out, presumably to satiate any lingering guilt you might have about you diet.
