Clearly the owner read every chapter of the ‘Idiot’s Guide to Opening a Trendy Bar’. Window benches or wooden blocks with flat cushions for seating, way-out bar deco, designer ceiling lights and studiously aloof waitresses are certainly by-the-book. But it doesn’t work. It’s too small, the cocktail menu is nothing special and the wait for a drink on weekend evenings is on the far side of cool.
