Liepaja

Seaside Park

At the far west end of Peldu     more than a year ago
Nearly 70 hectares of parkland await you right next to the beach. The park was created in the 1870s and over the years, the city’s most prominent citizens built grand wooden summer cottages here, many of which are Art Nouveau in style. Stroll down Liepu and Dzintaru streets for excellent 100-year-old architecture or take advantage of all that the park has to offer including beer gardens and cafés, miniature golf, tennis courts, bowling, a huge children's playground and even a skate park. Live performances are frequently held at the Pūt, vējiņi! concert hall in the summer and local FC Liepāja/Mogo football matches take place at the stadium here. You can also take a look at the renovated fountain on Hika iela, which has become a popular place to hang out for families and local pensioners. The whole park is traversed by an excellent bicycle trail.
