  Rua Serpa Pinto, 4 Capelo Street, 13      +351 213 432 148     more than a year ago
The National Museum of Contemporary Art was created in 1911 and re-inaugurated, in new installations, in 1994. Guardian of Portuguese modernity in art, this museum has a collection extending from the mid 19th century to the 21th century, though the decades after 1950 are less covered. Here you can enjoy works by the foremost Portuguese artists, as well as some foreigners. Among the artists represented are António Silva Porto, António Carneiro, António Soares dos Reis, Miguel Ângelo Lupi, Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, Amadeo de Souza Cardoso, Abel Manta, Dórdio Gomes, etc.
