Founded in 1923 and covering 62.5 hectares of a former manor estate, this university-owned oasis is both a serious research facility and a place for people to come and enjoy. Truly spectacular during the height of the summer when a great many of its 7,000 or so species are in bloom, the garden also plays host to a number of cultural events from concerts to exhibitions. Just south of the city centre, get there on city bus N°20, 32, 35, 35A or 67.
