The exquisite Late Baroque church and convent at Pažaislis on the eastern edge of the city is one of the country's most treasured architectural monuments. Nuns still run the place, which also plays host to a luxury hotel and restaurant. Built in the 17th century by Italian master craftsmen for the obscure Camaldolese Monks, the tedious journey through the forlorn industrial suburbs is well worth the effort. To get there out of season, take trolleybus Nº5 from the city to the final Petrašiūnai stop and carry on walking away from the city until you see the signs. During the summer the trolleybus goes all the way to the entrance.

Pažaislis Monastery is an inspirational masterpiece of baroque architecture! It will take your breath away! The new museum is well organized and very informative. It is a lovely addition to the Pažaislis Monastery.
