Amber Museum-Gallery

This ode to amber offers both a museum as well as a gallery with explanations in English, German. View a huge collection of amber, some with fascinating inclusions, as well as Neolithic amber amulets in its historic cellars. The gallery (Šv. Mykolo 12) also provides insight into the ancient art of amber processing using archaic tools (you can also make your own amulets here) and you'll also learn about the mystical and protective properties that the ancient Lithuanians ascribed to amber. Excellent pieces by the nation's top jewellers are also for sale at both venues.
