Where is Lublin & How to Get There?

Historically an eastern frontier city of the Polish Kingdom, 21st century Lublin can be found in the centre of its own region of Poland - the Lublin Voivodeship (PL: Województwo Lubelskie) - in the country's south-east. Lublin is only 170km from Warsaw and 300km from Kraków, whilst being a mere 100km from the western border of Ukraine and only 216km from Lviv. As such, travellers in the region enjoy a variety of intriguing Central European cities with Lublin conveniently located in the middle! If your mode of transport has tyres, a trip to Lublin by bus or car takes advantage of the cruisy intersection of expressways - the S12, S17 and S19. If you're hopping on a train to Lublin, the city enjoys direct connections with Warsaw, Kraków, Rzeszów, SzczecinGdynia and other Polish cities and towns in the region, such as Nałęczów, Chełm and Zamość. Lublin also has its own airport, which connects the city with other destinations in Poland and as far abroad as the UK, Belgium and Norway. Easy connections with Warsaw open Lublin up to even more international travel options.

How far is Lublin from Warsaw?

Lublin is about 170km south-east of Warsaw. 
Getting from Warsaw to Lublin by car is best achieved on the S17 Expressway (Warszawa - Hrebenne) and takes 1 hour 50 mins.
Direct trains from Warsaw to Lublin depart 4 times a day and take about 2 hours. Tickets average between 30-60zł, depending on which you choose.
Direct buses from Warsaw to Lublin depart 4 times a day and take about 2-3 hours. Tickets average between 30-40zł, depending on which you choose.

How far is Lublin from Kraków?

Lublin is about 300km north-east of Kraków. 
Getting from Kraków to Lublin by car is best achieved via the S7 Expressway and takes 4 hours.
Direct trains from Kraków to Lublin depart 4 times a day and take about 4.5 hours. Tickets average between 45-90zł, depending on which you choose.
Direct buses from Kraków to Lublin depart 6 times a day and take about 5 hours. Tickets average between 30-60zł, depending on which you choose.

LUBLIN AIRPORT

One of the great strengths of Lublin Airport is its geographical location in the relation to all the cities in the Lubelskie region.
Access to Lublin is very easy. The journey takes only 25-30 minutes. Transport is ensured by regular rail and bus services. The railbus terminal station is situated in the airport terminal.

GETTING TO/FROM LUBLIN AIRPORT BY TRAIN
The ride from Lublin Airport to Lublin Główny Train Station costs 5.30zł when buying a ticket from the conductor.
The ride from Lublin Główny Train Station to Lublin Airport costs 5.30zł when buying a ticket at the Lublin Main Station ticket office. NOTE: if you purchase this ticket from the conductor on the train, there is an additional charge.

GETTING TO LUBLIN AIRPORT BY BUS
Przewozy24.pl provides a direct bus links from the main coach station to Lublin Airport. In addition, urban bus line 5 (Lubartowska-Mełgiew) also runs by the airport.
 
TAXI FROM LUBLIN AIRPORT
There is no traditional taxi rank in front of the terminal building. A passenger who is willing to travel by a recommended taxi service from the airport is requested to approach the desk inside the terminal. Your driver will be called in immediately. In addition, Bolt and Uber rideshare services are also available in Lublin. PANEK​​, a Polish short-term car rental/carsharing service, can also be used.

LUBLIN GŁÓWNY RAILWAY STATION

Lublin's Main Railway Station, Lublin Główny, is situated to the south of the city centre, on Dworcowy Square, at the boundary of the Za Cukrownią and Dziesiąta districts. NOTE: Due to building works on Dworcowy Square, the front entrance is not accessible. Foot traffic is currently redirected to the back entrance, which is located on ul. Kunickiego.
From the Old Town, you can reach Lublin Główny by lines 003, 006, 011, 017, 020, 025, 029 and by trolleybus line 160 by getting off at the Dworzec Główny PKP - Kunickiego 02 stop.

LUBLIN MAIN COACH STATION

Lublin's Coach Station is situated in the centre of Lublin, close to municipal transport stops. A city bike station is installed in the immediate vicinity. Lublin Old Town is located within a short walking distance. The Station building is provided with passenger facilities: a seated waiting area, electronic information board, free wi-fi access and retail outlets.

Upon your arrival in Lublin Old Town, we strongly recommend stopping by the Tourist Inspiration Center and getting some advice from some fun and friendly locals.
