The history of the "Central Kids Store on Lubyanka" dates back to 1953. Since then, the department store has become a city icon and received the status of an object of cultural heritage of regional value. To keep it looking stunning, major renovation works recently took place and in 2015 the new and improved "Central Kids Store" (Centralny Detsky Mir) opened its doors to visitors! The launch of the biggest clock "Raketa" took place in a festive atmosphere of the CDM main atrium. The grandiose clock mechanism weighing more than 5 tons was created by the oldest Russian factory "Raketa" and became the "heart" of the renovated store. In addition to that, a free observation deck was opened where anyone can enjoy the views of Moscow’s historic center.
