A wonderfully bright, spacious and airy Irish pub. As well as having possibly the best (and cheapest) Guinness in Moscow, there’s also a great pub food menu (including curry). Each night of the week attracts an open and lively crowd and sports fans will be delighted with the amount of screens and variety of different sports covered. It's also a great place for Sunday lunch and look out for posters advertising their (English language) pub quizzes.

From my experience of this pub; I think some of the reviews on here are quite harsh. With any bar in Moscow, I think it is almost impossible to expect the same customer service standards that are in UK/US. I have been to Katie O'Sheas a couple of times now. I have been there both times during lunch time and it has been reasonably quiet. The decor is great and is very authentic. The waitresses are very attractive and they seemed quite friendly. They wear short green skirts and socks pulled up, which is good fun. My waitress was blond, petite and had a cute smile. Her English was decent and we even talked about the evening ahead, in which she said Friday night and Saturday night are always busy. I even asked for them to change the sports channel so I could watch the cricket, and they did so straight away with a smile. I think what people have to realise with Bars here is that you must get the sever's attention if you want another drink or food. It's very rare here for them to come and ask 'another beer?' I have never eaten here, but the food that I have seen looked excellent. The menu is very British with a few curries also. The prices seemed extremely reasonable. As for a pint, I was impressed with the quality. I drink the Heineken there and it is really nice. Price wise, it's quite pricy - £4, but then you would pay that in London. Overall this is my favourite bar in Moscow. To me, it seems 100% better than bobby dazzlers pub. Remember to go these pubs with a open mind. Like I said, it's impossible to expect the same service as it is back home. Even so Katie O'Sheas is a really good pub and I look forward to going back there soon

As others have pointed out the service here (as with nearly all Irish English pubs in Moscow with 2 or 3 exceptions) can be diabolical. Yes no-eye-contact is the motto of the day. When oh when are Moscow pub managers finally going to work out that servers are there to serve not to trot up and down the bar in a dreamworld. That said the place does normally have some atmosphere about it and it generally delivers a good experience. The Guinness is excellent and the curry with poppadoms nan and rice for EUR 10 is usually excellent. For this reason it still rates as one of Moscow's better Irish pubs.

Katie O'Shea's is a breath of freash air in Moscow every time I visit I am made to feel welcome,The service and food are very well presented and the drink is also reasonably priced for a Capital Cityits is easily compareable if not cheaper than Edinburgh or Dublin boys if you want a good night out in Moscow try Katie's

Since posting the comments above I was invited back by the management as their guest and the experience was completely different. They did everything they could to make it as pleasurable as possible and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent and service very good.

This pub definitely not the cheapest place for Guinness in Moscow. But Moscow is pricey anyway, so better spend your money in a fun place and this is the one!

Went to Katie O'Shea's last night and it is hard to explain quite how bad it was.I have been twice before, not long after it opened and the service was so bad I swore never to go back. However, it is well known and a good place to meet so I decided to give it another chance. That was the first mistake. The waitresses are obviously graduates of the "Old School", the one where the final exam is to walk the length of the restaurant floor, turn and return without once catching the eye of any customer. I thought this had pretty much died out in Moscow, but Katie's keeps the tradition alive. So fully ten minutes after entering I had to call out for a waitress to come and give me a drink.A while later I decided to order some food, the menu looks quite good with some dishes that I have not seen anywhere else in town and I plumped for the Steak and Guinness Pie with chips. The "no eye contact" ruling was still in place so I had had to get up and go to the bar to catch a waitresses eye. About 10 minutes later a waitress brought the feeding irons and a place mat. Five minutes after that the 3 guys sitting at the bar then ordered food as well. Then I waited. These girls are good. they must have passed me a dozen times or more, studiously looking anywhere butat me as I waited for my meal. After waiting 35 minutes I managed to catch another waitress by calling out to her and asked where my food was. She went away and came back with it. It had obviously been standing a while, there was a film on the gravy, and it came immediately. Interestingly the 3 guys at the bar were served at the same time, despite ordering fully ten minutes later than me.The pie was excellent, it is packed with steak and the pastry was nice. The chips were McCains cheapest - pure cardboard, absolutely devoid of any taste whatsoever. Being an Irish bar and with items such as Steak and Guinness Pie I had expected proper chips - things that bore a passing resemblance to potatoes, but sadly no. So, an incredibly disappointing experience. Three visits, and appalling customer service each time. The first two times the place had been quite busy, so maybe allowances could be made: they shouldn't be but...: but yesterday staff outnumbered customers.Maybe you have to be a regular to get decent service, I don't know, but I am certainly not going to try and find out. Why this place is popular is a complete and utter mystery to me.
