This five star hotel looks out over Lubyanka Square in the heart of the city, a stone’s throw away from Red Square. The hotel’s grand Art-Deco style echoes the turn of the century, when this former residence of Count Orlov became a luxury perfumer’s. Degas and Klimt style paintings adorn the walls of the rooms which are furnished with fine fabrics, gilded oak, marble and crystal. An original 1907 mosaic frames the windows looking out onto Nikolskaya street in the Mosaik restaurant, which serves Russian-European cuisine. The conference facilities are ultra-modern from ball-room to board room, and the hotel offers plenty of places to relax too, with several bars, an Italian restaurant, a French bistro and a spa.

Stayed in this hotel for business, in early November. The hotel is fairly new and looks clean. Check-in was painfully slow. The room wasnt spacious enough and didn’t had everything that you would expect. This particular room was somewhat of a funny shape which made part of the room unusable/hard to use. The bed was fine, but a little on the short side for a tall European. The price, location and included breakfast make this not very good value for money.
