Ugolek might sit on a row of restaurants on Bolshaya Nikitskaya, but it is absolutely unique and it is definitely worth taking the time to check it out. In fact, seeing how popular it has become, it is a good idea to book ahead. All the dishes are cooked on an open charcoal oven, giving the food a delicious smokey and home made flavour. The interior decor follows the same homey theme, with low sofas, mismatching wooden tables and log fires creating a simple yet cosy effect. Friendly staff and an excellent, reasonably priced menu, which features a Franco-Italiano-Russo choice of dishes make this the perfect place for a midweek supper, relaxed date or a weekend catchup with friends.
