The concept is based on a Paris novelty – where else? – called Dans Le Noir. The basic idea is that without seeing the food, the other sensations are heightened, especially taste. Here you eat with your hands, fingers, tongue, cheek, ears…it's a tricky experience dining in complete darkness, but absolutely fascinating too. After safely depositing your belongings, a blind waiter will carefully and expertly lead you to your table in complete darkness where you can enjoy one of a choice of surprise meals. The food is a mix of French, Russian and European tastes and guessing what's on the plate by taste alone is half the fun. You really see nothing, because it is as dark as dark can be and how different people react to the sensation is fascinating. We found it slightly nerve-racking but also highly exciting and fun, especially as with heightened hearing conversations tend to take many unusual turns. A one of a kind experience that you will be talking about long after.
