The scene of a miracle, the slopes of Apparition Hill are filled with believers throughout the year, men and women climbing in shoeless feet in search of understanding and meaning. For the unbelievers it remains a charming hike, a climb that takes an hour or so and offers a great view of just how big Međugorje has become. It was here that the Virgin Mary first appeared to those teenagers on that fateful night back in 1981, back when it was called Podbrdo. A number of crosses adorn the hill, a blue one for the spot of the first apparition.
