Since 1772, you'll find this oldfashioned Dutch Inn right in the middle of pretty Hollum. Built on the highest dune, it used to be safe from the water that, during the Dutch Golden Age, often reached the lower parts of the village. The left room of the Inn is still more or less in its original Rococo style. Since the notary, the doctor and the bankers used this room as there seat, it was of great importance for Hollum and Ameland. Nowadays we judge the place as one of the best places in Ameland for lunch, dinner or just a drink. Inside, the red leather chairs, dark brown floorboards and the fishing nets over the bar make a proper sea-side pub atmosphere. Outside, the (heated) terrace enables you to sit outside forever. The menu isn't spectacular, but for sole and catfish or, if you prefer meat, saddle of lamb, you're on the right spot.
