If you’re on a budget and you’re fine with staying at a basic hotel with few facilities, Hotel Atlanta is a decent option. Staff members are helpful, rooms are generally clean and Amsterdam’s highlights are all just a short stroll away. There are some disadvantages though. First of all, the entire building is a bit outdated and rooms are old-fashioned at best. Breakfast is rather scanty and overpriced, the steep staircases require advanced climbing skills and the rooms facing Rembrandtplein are downright noisy. Hotel Atlanta is situated directly above an Irish pub, so if you’re the type of sleeper who doesn’t like listening to the effects of massive alcohol consumption, either ask for a room at the back or don’t stay near Rembrandtplein.
