If you've got money to burn and are ready cross off another experience from your bucket list, then head down to the Curacao Sea Aquarium. In a protected part of the harbour you'll find the Curasub, a submarine built to explore the depths of the earth’s oceans where divers can’t go. When not carrying tourists to the sea floor, the Curasub is used for marine research. Before you step into the 5-person submarine and dive to a depth of 320m, you'll receive a safety briefing from the professional staff. During the thrilling ride you'll encounter ship wrecks, coral reefs, unique deep-water fish and a wealth of natural treasures all carefully explained by the knowledgeable pilot. Viewing space is limited, so hopefully you'll be as lucky as we were and share the sub with only the pilot and one other passenger. After the 90-minute educational experience you'll be presented with a T-shirt, a certificate and a flash drive with loads of pictures from your trip, an everlasting souvenir of this adventurous journey. Although we loved the top-notch operation from start to finish, we wouldn’t recommend it for claustrophobic people or anyone with back problems. Dress lightly as it gets quite humid in the sub!
