Zurich has a reputation for banking, punctuality and eye-watering prices that is, unfortunately, entirely deserved. What it misses is the medieval old town, the lake, the Alps on the horizon, the Dadaists who once tried to destroy art here, and the fact that you can swim in the river in summer. A considerably better city than it gets credit for.
