By virtue of its mountainous landscape, the area around Niš provides good opportunities for sporting activities, not least those of the extreme variety. Aside from hiking and mountaineering, there's favourable terrain for paragliding and free climbing, both organised by sports clubs from the city. There are also some less conventional and equally extreme opportunities out there, if you fancy something a little different.
