Situated on atmospheric Mount Vodno in the small settlement of Gorno Nerezi less than 10km from the city centre and directly across the road from the incredible church in the St. Pantelejmon Monastery, Makedonsko Selo (Macedonian Village) is a fascinating complex that combines the very best features of a traditional outdoor museum with a modern and sophisticated dining and accommodation experience. Covering 12,000 square metres, Makedonsko Selo features 16 traditional houses representing various Macedonian architectural traditions from the 19th and 20th centuries in which there are three fine restaurants and a hotel accommodating up to 100 guests. The complex also has a number of workshops where visitors can learn about traditional crafts including silversmithing, ceramics and weaving plus there are lots of extra events happening here throughout the year.
