The museum was established in 2000, and is based on reproductions of work by the adventurer, philosopher and Nobel Prize nominated artist Nicolas Roerich. Works by his son Svetoslav Roerich, and pupils B.A. Smirnova-Rusetskogo and others are also on display. The exposition occupies 5 halls. One of the halls displays the literary heritage of all members of the Roerich family, art albums and Svetoslav’s portraits of his famous family.
