Plaza de Toros

  Paseo Hemingway, s/n      +34 948 22 53 89     20 Sep 2019
The place where the bull-run ends up is the… bullring. It is located just outside the Old Town on the Paseo de Hemingway, named in honour of Ernest Hemingway who once wrote the famous phrase: “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.” In our days the actual bullfights do not often happen even in Spain facing a remarkable opposition among the animal rights activists and organizations. Near Plaza del Toros you can see one impressive contemporary bronze sculpture created only a quarter-century ago, bearing the name the Monumento al Encierro (Monument of the Bulls).
