Prilep

share

North Macedonia’s fourth largest city after Skopje, Bitola and Kumanovo, Prilep was first mentioned in written sources at the start of the 11th century, although archaeological excavations suggest that people have been living in the region for least 2,000 years. Featuring a bustling Old Bazaar and several interesting things too see both in the city and further afield, the country’s unofficial tobacco capital is more than worthy of a day or two of adventure.
