Tobacco Museum

  Kruševsko Džade bb      +389 48 43 40 11     more than a year ago
The history of growing tobacco in and around Prilep dates back to the 19th century. The first tobacco processing factory in the city was established in 1873, and the industry is now one of Prilep’s largest cash crops, a fact reflected in the existence of this curious museum just north of the city centre. Containing over 750 artefacts relating to the history, growing, processing and smoking of the stuff, the museum is supposed to be open during the week but is generally locked, a minor inconvenience that can be fairly easily rectified by driving to the large institute the museum’s located in and finding somebody to let you in.
