The Prilep-born singer, songwriter and actor Toše Proeski (1981-2007), who died tragically young in a car crash whilst on tour in Croatia and who grew up in Kruševo, was so loved by his fellow countryman and by the people of the Balkans in general that he received a full state funeral in the town. Starting his career at the age of 12 and going on to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004, his short life is simultaneously celebrated and commemorated inside this purpose-built museum.
