From spring to autunm, the imposing Trebeshina, Dhëmbel and Nemëreçka mountain chain that rises up almost 2500 metres south of Përmet and Këlcyra is a hiker's and climber's paradise, offering a variety of day trips and longer hikes. The most popular destination here is the 20-metre-high ujevara e Sopotit or Sopot waterfall, a local beauty spot that's perfect for a picnic and quite easily reached on a 3km path from Strëmbec village, 19km south of Përmet.
