This 15th century fortress built by the Florentines lies outside the former city walls. A testament to the passage of time, its arches stone staircases and large garden are a perfect place for relaxation or a family picnic. In summer, the Giardino Scotto, as it is also called, comes alive with concerts, an open-air cinema with daily screenings and a host of other cultural events, some of which are free of charge.
