Erected to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the unification of Bulgaria, the monument depicts the Mother-Country with the laurel wreath of victory stretched high in her hands; her two wings represent the two regions (Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia) brought together, ready for the coming 20th century.
