The historic 'Changing of the Guard' in Gdańsk Old Town.

Recreated by the living historians of Garnizon Gdańsk (ENG: The Gdańsk Garrison), this re-enactment of the historic changing of the city guard is modeled on Gdańsk's 18th-century military regulations and is always a novelty for visitors in the old town. Additionally, these soldiers will demonstrate period drill, equipment, and uniforms worn by city soldiers. Historical commentary in Polish will accompany the performance, however, these living historians are more than competent in English and are delighted to show you their kit at the end of the re-enactment!

When and Where?

The Changing of the Guard happens between the Foregate Complex and the Golden Gate in Gdańsk Old Town on either the first or second Sunday of the month (except for August) at 15:00. Dates below 👇👇👇
