We’ve long been fans of the Gdańsk thanks to its great location in a sandblasted granary building which stares out across the river onto the old town. Guests can choose between 5-star in the original 17th century granary ‘spichlerz’ part, which comes with rooms all hinting at the past with wooden beams and pictures of ‘Old Danzig’, or the adjacent 4-star ‘Yachting’ part, which is very 21st century and offers a contrasting modern design and feel, top-class spa facilities and conference rooms. Both parts are excellent as witnessed by the Spanish football team's choice of the hotel as their Gdańsk base during Euro2012. As if that wasn’t enough there’s the highly recommended Brovarnia microbrewery and restaurant on the ground floor downstairs.
