Instytut Kultury Miejskiej (ENG: The Urban Culture Institute) organises small festivals events, urban activities and guided walking tours, as well as publication books and conducting research in the 'Cultural Observatory'. Keep an eye on their facebook for thematic lectures, film series, intimate concerts, and training sessions, that are open to both locals and visitors.
Additionally, the IKM Cinema maintains a repertoire for children, young adults and older audience, with regular documentaries, works of fiction, animation and family-friendly cinema all appearing in the calendar. Every Monday at 19:00 are Polish and world cinema screenings with English subtitles, which is always a great opportunity for visitors and expats in town. Gdańsk's City Culture Institute states that they intend to encourage a culture of openness, and to make Gdańsk and its districts accessible and connected to its inhabitants, who have the opportunity to be co-creators in the city's future.
