One of the few remaining sections of the Kalisz's medieval defensive walls. Constructed at the end of 14th century, this tower also served as a prison. Its namesake is taken from a legend, where a beautiful young lady named Dorotka, the daughter of a prominent Kalisz townsman, fell In love with a shoemaker and was imprisoned here as punishment for pursuing someone below her station! Other versions of the legend claim that other 'wicked' girls were imprisoned there and also named Dorotka.
