Our favourite branch of Kraków's library system, Arteteka lends DVDs, CDs, comics, boardgames, video games and other media. The media collection is expanding all the time, and the selection isn't bad (except for the English language comics collection, which is pitiful). There are computers for public use, and you can watch films, play boardgames and video games right on site. Located over two floors of the modern Małopolska Garden of the Arts, the building is quite cool and has become a very popular place for students to camp out and study (so much so that it can be annoying to even browse the aisles during the academic year). Art exhibits, festival events, conferences and community meetings are also occasionally organised here.
If you want to borrow anything you need a library card, and your card must also be shown upon entry (why? we have no idea - it's annoying). Getting a card issued on the spot is no problem for locals, but for tourists there's not much sense to it.
